So I thought whilst I have the time off I would pop along to the first CCRAM Conference to see what it’s all about. I have been reliably informed we may be doing one in our second so whilst taking the time off I thought I would get some tips!
It’s proving to be of great benefit coming along to this conference and pick up facts, presentation techniques for my practise. It’s really quite inspiring.
Techniques I have learnt.
- Summarise what you are hoping to do/find out in your research/practise
- Follow this previous point with looking at the history – for me that will be looking at the history of the Internet, what’s its main purpose/use, who uses it etc etc. Early years leading up to present day. Supporting this with lots of research.
- Make lots of references from findings in Research Methods. When quoting the reference in the presentations refer as “quote….unquote…from…”
- Include your argument with the research you’ve found. In my case this shall be that from the research I have done (don’t forget to give examples/references) I have found no proof, experiments, understanding of how people use the web…how the way it’s designed can influence people’s decisions/movements. And what people may believe to be the case in the real world…is not so in necessarily in the real world
- In the middle or so of the presentation talk about how my research had brought me to this methodology/artefact. Find quotes to reflect artefact.
- Support your presentation with visuals – images, videos, demos etc.
